UC Berkeley Human Rights Center
Each semester the Human Rights Center’s Investigations Lab at the University of California, Berkeley brings together more than 80 students to work with human rights organizations and news agencies worldwide. Since the lab’s inception in 2016, we’ve worked on dozens of projects to provide real-time analysis of digital information of potential war crimes, dis/misinformation, and human rights abuses. Our partners have included Amnesty International, Human Rights First, Center for Justice and Accountability, the New York Times, and Associated Press. Our aim is to ensure that abuses are exposed--whether in Syria, Myanmar, Sudan, Hong Kong, the United States, or elsewhere—in real time. Your support enables us to train students, fund student leaders, and direct projects that have an impact far beyond the UC Berkeley campus.
