IRAP is a global legal aid and advocacy organization working to create a world where refugees and all people seeking safety – including those who have been marginalized or historically excluded, or face systemic barriers – are empowered to claim their right to freedom of movement and a path to lasting refuge.
IRAP provides free direct legal services and information, policy advocacy, impact litigation, strategic communications, and partner capacity-strengthening to help displaced people know their legal rights, access migration pathways, and catalyze systemic solutions.
Together, we push for more equitable and efficient pathways to safety and advocate for new ones, like overdue protection and resettlement options for people displaced by the climate crisis. Our work is powered by displaced people; our staff; pro bono partners; law students; partner organizations worldwide, including refugee-led and local initiatives; and our community of supporters.
